Town of Huntsville Operations update

From the Town of Huntsville

The Town of Huntsville Public Works crews continue to perform winter operations today, clearing fallen trees and debris as a result of the recent spring ice storm to hit our area over the weekend. Crews have prioritized plowing, salting, sanding as well as responding to service calls.

While crews continue to clean up from the weekend’s storm, a Special Weather Statement has been issued by Environment Canada for Huntsville and area forecasting northwesterly winds gusting to 50 km/h that are anticipated for today and into this evening. Residents are advised to take caution as winds could cause additional damage to trees and utility lines, further complicating regional cleanup efforts.

The District of Muskoka issued a State of Emergency on March 30, that pertains to operations on all District of Muskoka roads. Residents in Huntsville can reference muskoka.on.ca for a full list of District of Muskoka roads where operations could be impacted.

The Town of Huntsville would like to thank our Public Works crews, utility crews and emergency responders in our region who have worked to support our community during this time.
