Town of Huntsville launches photo contest in lieu of Canada Day celebrations

Submitted by the Town of Huntsville

Town of Huntsville in-person Canada Day community celebrations and fireworks will be cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but residents are still encouraged to celebrate Canada Day safely within the parameters of public health measures.

In light of this, the Town of Huntsville is excited to announce the launch of a Canadian Spirit Photo Contest.

Are you celebrating with your household or with friends you haven’t seen in a while, now that outdoor gathering limits have changed? On Canada Day do you wear as much red and white-coloured clothing and accessories as possible? Do you camp, canoe or experience our beautiful landscape?

Take pictures depicting Canadian spirit and submit them to the Town of Huntsville Canadian Spirit Photo Contest starting June 28 at noon until July 2 at noon. There are prizes to be won, including the top prize of a $500 Downtown Huntsville BIA gift certificate. The photo submissions will be judged on a number of criteria including theme, esthetics and photography skill, creativity and inclusion of red and white colours etc.

This contest is for Huntsville residents only and you must be 19 years of age to enter. For full contest rules, judging criteria, regulations and to enter the contest, visit myhuntsville.ca.
