Hockey fans across Muskoka can look forward to a special night of excitement, nostalgia, and community impact as the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni take to the ice on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre Arena.
The game will raise vital funds in support of the Children’s Foundation of Muskoka (CFM), helping children and youth across the region access camp, programs, opportunities, and essential supports.
The Alumni team will be led by Head Coach and Ambassador Wendel Clark, with former Maple Leafs Kris King, Rick Vaive, and Todd Gill already confirmed to participate. Additional Leafs Alumni will be announced closer to the event.
“This game will serve as a great highlight for our community,” said Dave Lyons, Executive Director of the CFM. “It will bring people together around a shared love of hockey while making a real and lasting difference for local kids and families who need support.”
Tickets for the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Game are scheduled to go on sale December 19th at NOON and will be available for purchase online through the CFM website. In addition to ticket sales, sponsorship opportunities and a silent auction will help drive fundraising efforts for the Foundation.
The CFM supports children and youth facing financial barriers by funding access to sports and recreation, the arts, post-secondary education, mental health supports, and basic needs throughout the region. Proceeds from the game will directly support these initiatives.
More event details, including participating rosters and other announcements, will be shared in the lead-up to the event on the CFM’s social media channels.

Yo Dougie
I would Love to have my Jersey resigned if that’s Possible
And of course I would Love to have Wendell sign it as well
Love You Guys
See you in Muskoka
Sad, but unless they won it with another team, there won’t be a Leaf on this alumni outing that got within sniffing distance of winning a Stanley Cup. Each year means there are fewer of us left around who can remember that Toronto has indeed won a cup or two. Unless thy look it up in a book.
Fifty-eight years ago the Leafs won the cup. I remember my Mother saying she knew they would do it. But Mom had watched and heard the team win a few Championships. You could say that my Mother was a big fan. If a player had been 18 when they last hoisted the cup, he’d be 75 or so now.
I used to go to my Grandparents house in the evenings so my Uncle Geo. would read to me from his collection of books. I could read, but it was just great having someone read aloud to me. That held even into High school when Doug Stone would read Shakespeare aloud in class. Great. And you kept the noise down when Gramps had Foster tuned in.
I was aware of the prowess of those Leaf teams back in the day. Gramps would sit near the radio with the volume up, pipe stoked and Foster doing the play by play. The radio was a big old tube unit that, with a bit of strung antenna brought in the games and other goings on, even from stations in the southern US of A. It also put out enough heat to keep the one end of the old house a tad warmer than the rest.
When I worked in the city, some friends and I would go to occasional games on Saturday nights. High up in the Grays from where, sometimes, the view was a bit hazy from all the smoke. But you still seemed to know who had the puck and which way the action was taking it.
Hope everyone has a good night out. Maybe whoever is playing as opposition to those alumni can remember that these were some great players. So don’t run up the score on them!
This is going to be such a great event, a truly special night in the community.
