Thousands of customers without power

UPDATED March 12, 2026, at 7:45 a.m. More than 2,000 customers in the Huntsville, Lake of Bays, and Almaguin Highlands region have no power this morning. Hydro One crews continue working to restore power following significant freezing rain and ice accumulation. The anticipated restoration times across the affected areas vary.

Hydro One is advising residents that more power outages are possible as freezing rain is expected to continue throughout the day into the night.

Crews are working on restoring power. Estimated restoration times vary from this morning to this evening for more remote areas.
