The Huntsville Curling Club invites you to celebrate Curling Day in Canada

You’ve probably already heard that Crokicurl is coming to River Mill Park.

This unique game is a large-scale version of the board game Crokinole, combined with the sport of curling.

The concept has Canadian roots. It was invented in Winnipeg in 2016. Crokicurl rinks are popping up in many towns and cities, offering one more way to help us enjoy the outdoors during our long Canadian winters.

The River Mill Park site in Huntsville, Ont., was chosen in partnership with the Huntsville Curling Club and the Downtown BIA. Originally, the idea was to construct the rink as part of a one-day event planned by the Curling Club to celebrate Curling Day in Canada on January 31, 2026. As construction continues and excitement builds, Crokicurl will be made available past this date, with equipment being made available at designated times.

Plan to join the Huntsville Curling Club on this day to try your hand at Crokicurl as well as participate in other activities being offered.

Make a full day of it as the Club at 6 Veterans Way opens its doors to the public from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on January 31.

Some exciting events have been planned, including a chance to “Throw Your First Rock,” Junior and Celebrity games, a Kids’ corner for the younger set, and the opportunity to watch club members compete in Canada’s Big Shootout, a national contest being held on that day.

This all happens in a year where HCC is celebrating its 125th Anniversary and we are delighted to share the festivities with you. TSN has chosen to highlight our local club and the town of Huntsville and will be on site broadcasting the event.

Plan to bring family and friends and find out what it is like to be part of the great Canadian winter tradition of Curling!
