Tall Trees hopes to fill tall order in support of Community Living Huntsville

Submitted by Community Living Huntsville

When Randy Vowels, chef, and owner of Tall Trees, caught wind of Community Living Huntsville’s desperate need for a new vehicle, he started working on a recipe for success.

Vowels has incentivized folks to donate to this essential organization by offering donors a chance to win a fine dining experience this February.

“Community Living Huntsville is a vital part of our community, and it supports people and their families with developmental disabilities,” says Vowels. “We are thrilled to offer this draw in support of a new accessible van for Community Living. An accessible van means inclusion in the community and access to independent living.”

When people donate to Community Living Huntsville from now until February 18, their name will be entered into a draw for a culinary trip around the world for four.

In a heated outdoor chalet, guests will savour an exquisite seven-course dinner for four, paired with wine, under the stars. This incredible dining experience will occur on February 28th, 2022.

There are four of these prizes available, valued at $700 each. Winners will be announced live on the Tall Trees Facebook page.

“Our bulky cube van, which is less than reliable these days, is also impractical for people we support. It isn’t inclusive. Can you imagine rolling up to your favourite restaurant in a cube van big enough to stand up in? People stare. You become aware that you stand out. And imagine how that would weigh on you over time. A new accessible van means independence, inclusion and normalcy,” explains Jennifer Jerrett, community engagement specialist at Community Living Huntsville.

Jerrett and Vowels are hoping community members take time to learn about Community Living Huntsville and the vital work they do for so many Muskoka families. It makes for a great dinner conversation.

Community Living Huntsville supports more than 300 children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in North Muskoka. They work to empower people while embracing diversity and cultivating community.
