Sunshine Sketches with Geordie Sabbagh: Stories of the dreamers and doers who keep Muskoka’s magic alive, one small act at a time

Doppler is pleased to introduce Sunshine Sketches of Muskoka, a short monthly film series celebrating the people, places, and small-town spirit that make this region home — and the community we love, often built quietly, without recognition or support.

These are the stories that remind us why Muskoka matters — and why it endures. Created and directed by talented filmmaker Geordie Sabbagh, each episode captures the heart of a community that runs on connection, history, and hope.

I love that they get a wide variety of first-run movies including family friendly flicks (and my personal favourite: Horrors!!!). We pre-purchase vouchers every Christmas and we are always so excited to see the first film when they open in the Spring! I wish they were open all year long 🙂 It’s a great vibe and the atmosphere is like nowhere else!
