UPDATED on September 10 at 10:55 a.m.: Spruce Glen Public School is currently under a hold and secure again due to bears in the schoolyard. All students and staff are safe, and the Huntsville OPP have been called.
Families have received communication from the school.
FYI – In a hold and secure exterior doors are locked and classroom routines and lessons continue. Students will not be permitted outside and cannot be signed out while a hold and secure is in place. Parents/guardians are not able to pick up their students during a hold and secure.
If you have an urgent concern about your child, please contact the school directly.

UPDATED at 3:19 p.m.: The hold and secure is still in place at Spruce Glen Public School but will be conducting an indoor dismissal process at the end of the day. This means, students will remain indoors and be escorted by their teacher directly onto a bus, or picked up directly by their parents/guardians. Buses will be filled one by one, and as such, transportation may be slightly delayed.
