Rotary calls for peace on earth with Peace Poles

Two Peace Poles have been planted in Huntsville, calling for peace on earth. One at the Legion and the other at the Pollinator Garden at Avery Beach.

Rotarians erected the Peace Polls, which display the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth.”

The poles are part of a peace movement and are recognized as a prominent international symbol dedicated to peace on earth.

“Peace Poles have been erected on every continent and in over 200,000 communities by friends and supporters working in unison to uplift the consciousness of humankind,” states a post on the Facebook page of the Huntsville Legion. May Peace Prevail on Earth is written on the pole in the language of the country where it is placed. There may also be additional languages that are meaningful to the host site.

Thanks and congratulations to the Rotarians. I first saw these messages when I visited Hiroshima in the 80s. Also stencilled on a stone wall.
