The Annual Rotary Christmas Auction continues until Sunday, December 1, 2024.
The auction succeeds due to the extremely generous donations from Huntsville’s business community. This year’s auction is no different, with over $40,000 in donated items by over 200 businesses.
Bidding has been ongoing since mid-November. On Sunday, December 1, the various items up for bid close in five-minute blocks, starting at noon.
Go on to huntsvillerotaryauction.com now to register and get your final bids in. If you’re busy on Sunday, you can use the Auto Bid option to indicate the maximum amount you are prepared to bid on an item. The Bidding Owl program then places your bids in identified amounts, if required, but never more than your maximum amount.
One of the unique items up for bid is a certificate for the purchase of a NyDock docking system. An industry leader in the docking industry, NyDock, and Jan Nyquist have donated this item for a second straight year. All the successful bidder needs to do is to negotiate the purchase of docking products at regular prices, including installation and transport. The $10,000 certificate, up for auction bid, is applied to this amount, and the reduced amount is subject to HST. The certificate expires July 31, 2025, but installation can happen after that date. Additional details are included on the auction site under the ‘Featured Items’ tab.
This substantial donation from Jan is only the latest example of the support he and his companies have provided for the Rotary Club of Huntsville. For several years, Jan used the resources at Pipefusion and NyDock to support the Rotary Dockfest. With the Club’s plan to present Dockfest again after a few year’s hiatus, Jan stepped up and committed his full support to ensure it was a smashing success. Planning is well underway for the 2025 edition, and recognizing the essential role played by Jan and his companies, the event will once again be presented as the Rotary/NyDock Dockfest.
Pipefusion and NyDock have supported many community events and organizations over the years, but their specific support for the Rotary Club of Huntsville’s efforts to serve and improve our community should be called out and recognized. You often hear about PPP, public/private partnerships, being the way of the future. Certainly, in a slightly varied form, that collaboration is already alive and thriving in our community, notes Rotarian Rob Saunders.
The Rotary auction includes a $10,000 gift certificate towards docking products by NyDock.
