ProActive Rehab celebrates 15 successful years

Almost a year after moving into a new location, ProActive Rehab had a chance to celebrate again today, this time in honour of their 15th anniversary.

“We’ve been serving the community for 15 years as ProActive Rehab, and we’ve seen a lot of people and helped them with their various physical challenges,” said Leslie Tempest. “It’s been a pleasure and an honour to serve for that long and we’re still going strong.”

Not ones to reserve the good vibes just for themselves, the staff at ProActive Rehab also collected donations of non-perishable food items for The Table Soup Kitchen.

“We’ve tried to put ourselves out there volunteering at and supporting various events, and we’re doing it again here,” said Tempest. “We give back as best we can.”

To encourage their clients to donate, the staff set goals at which they’d agree to do silly things. For 50 items they said they’d sing a song, at 100 a group dance got thrown in, at 150 they’d agree to dress as superheroes, at 250 they’d dye their hair, and at 300 one lucky staff member would jump in the lake.

Shortly after officially starting the anniversary celebration at 11:30, 227 items had already been donated.

Now, as they always have, the ProActive team is looking ahead to how they can continue to serve their clients and their community.

“I see us growing and thriving here in this new space,” said Tempest. “Hopefully there’s great things to come for us and the people we serve.”
