The Bracebridge detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two individuals in relation to a mischief investigation.

On November 7, 2025, Bracebridge OPP officers responded to a report of a mischief that occurred at 2:15 p.m. on Highway 118 East near Kirst Road, after a rock struck the victim’s windshield while they were driving, causing damage. Furthermore, on November 8, 2025, at 1:45 p.m., Bracebridge officers responded to a second incident of a similar nature in the same area, following the damage to the second victim’s windshield and the hood of their vehicle. We need youth camps like military style. Hard labour, not what the judge will hand out! They will be lightly dealt with by the justice system! Glad every one is okay!

  2. Sharon Burgess Canada says:

These kids need to be punished. The slap on the wrist for youth, is not working. They endangered people’s lives, and must realize the severity of these actions. The young offenders act needs to go. If you are old enough to do crimes, you are old enough to accept appropriate punishment.

  3. CJ Blake says:

I once read the book “The First Stone” that starts off with a boy, about the age of those in this news article, who throws a stone over a highway overpass and causes a multi-car pile up. I feel these kids should read that to understand the ripple effect of their actions.

At the very least these two should be forced to pay for the damage to the vehicles and personally give that money to the vehicle owners. But there should also be meaningful consequences for these actions. This is not a slap on the wrist offence.
