Peter passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Linda by his side. He was 85.
Born July 12, 1940 in Montreal, his family moved to Toronto in the early 50’s. He attended Upper Canada College and then Western University. A member of Phi Delta Theta, he enjoyed being in musical productions while he studied law. He honed his skills as a pilot during his time in London.
He had a thriving law practice and his love of animals and the outdoors inspired his move to a farm in the Thorndale area. Peter shared many years on the farm with Linda where they raised a herd of Simmental beef cattle. They loved the hard work of farming but still managed to escape to many Provincial Parks to camp and canoe every summer.
During his farming days, he also found time to serve on the local counsel of the Township.
After retiring from farming, they moved to Huntsville to be closer to Algonquin Park. He volunteered with Literacy Huntsville, the Algonquin Art Academy and worked on many political campaigns. He was soon back to work developing land in the Huntsville area.
Peter and Linda love, dto travel and as Peter would say, they attempted to play golf They spent several weeks each year in Hilton Head Island, SC, where they enjoyed the sunshine and golf courses.
With a life in law, farming, volunteering, land development, golf and travel, Peter made lasting friendships along his road. His family and friends will miss him, none more than Linda.
According to his wishes, there will be no formal service.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 1:30-5:30pm at 611 Skyhills Road, Huntsville, ON.
