The R & G Construction Pee Wee Hawks are on a roll for the 2017 Lacrosse season.

The team brought home the silver medal from the 2017 Anthony Acchione Memorial Classic Tournament in Barrie, June 9-11, competing in the B/C Divisions for their first tournament of the season.

The Pee Wee team played on Friday, June 9, against Northumberland and won their first game 9-6.

On Saturday, June 10, the boys competed in two games and conquered both opponents with two leading wins. The first game had the Hawks play against Oakville 2 with a winning score 10-2 and the second was against Clarington 2, scoring 9 goals to 2.

These three wins had the Hawks Pee Wees advance to the semi-final game against Whitby 3 on the morning of Sunday, June 11. The Hawks once again held their winning streak 12-3.

The championship game saw the Hawks up against the Toronto Beaches 1 team. The Pee Wee Hawks finally met their match and fell behind throughout the game 4-0 but managed to pull together as the clock wound down. With only 30 seconds left in the game, Huntsville stepped it up to tie the game and forced it into overtime. What a comeback, Hawks! Then, with less than a minute to go, the Beaches team scored for the win.

Congratulations to the R&G Construction Pee Wee Hawks for bringing home the Silver. Excellent determination from this lacrosse C Division team considering they were competing against mostly B-ranked teams.
