Conservative candidate and former mayor of Huntsville, Scott Aitchison elected in Parry Sound-Muskoka.

Trisha Cowie (Liberal) – 15,716
Gord Miller (Green) – 7965
Dan Predie (Independent) – 365
Tom Young (NDP) – 6219

Presently, 338 seats make up Canada’s parliament. Therefore, 170 seats are required to secure a majority government. At the time that parliament was dissolved for this election the standings were: Liberal – 177, Conservative – 95, NDP – 39, Bloc Québécois – 10, Green – 2, Others – 10, Vacancies – 5.
