Each week, Huntsville’s own Grant Nickalls entertains us, inspires us, make us laugh and sometimes makes us cry, but always he reminds us why Huntsville is the best place on earth to call home.

Well said Grant. It does seem ironic people of color, and women, continue to be marginalized after decades of similar advocacy. Is there equal pay for women across the board? Are we not still deluged with hate crimes based on race?

I wonder if progress is measured by legislative gain in such cases, but the essence the reality retains much of its’ history. I would love to have Dr. King alive and see his opinion on such matters.

Hey …Every one is entitled to a opinion… a narrative ..and .. BELIEF’s … and ..their ‘values’.. and ..the way they want to live their life! And .. you talk about anger .. look what you ..said …. and ..did.. as soon as someone disagrees with YOUR opinion! Is this not hypocrisy?

Well said, Grant: personally, I would be thrilled if the “Rainbow Coalition” flag was to fly atop the Town Hall (below the Canadian flag) all year. Where’s the harm? Would our tourism suffer? The LGBTQ2W community is not a violent group: It is those who feel entitled to oppose them who are. Perhaps, a united front supporting them would deter some of the latter. I have always found Huntsville to be welcoming to all visitors. This would be a small indication that we “walk the walk”.

This is one of the best, most thoughtful responses I’ve heard to this question. Thank you Grant.
