The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues its search for a man wanted in Elnaz HAJTAMIRI’s abduction and is asking for public assistance.
On April 23, 2024, the Bolo (Be On The Lookout) Program updated their Canada’s 25 Most Wanted, with number 11 being Deshawn DAVIS. The OPP has issued an outstanding arrest warrant for DAVIS, age 35 of Toronto, for his suspected involvement in Elnaz HAJTAMIRI’s abduction. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122 or through the dedicated tip line at 1-833-728-3415. If you see DAVIS, we ask that you do not approach him.
A $100,000 reward, issued jointly by the OPP and York Regional Police, is available to anyone who brings forward information that leads to Elnaz’s whereabouts. Additional rewards were announced by Bolo Executive Director Max Langlois through a new initiative on Bolo’s website – boloprogram.org -called the Bolo Lineup. The Bolo Lineup is an online contest aimed at incentivising Canadians to “be on the lookout” for the wanted fugitives. Any Canadian resident aged 18 or older may participate in this initiative by identifying wanted fugitives in a series of lineups. Participants will have a chance to collect one of 100 prizes, including a $10,000 travel voucher, computers, gaming consoles, tablets and gift cards. For information on each case, visit boloprogram.org.
Elnaz, 37 years old at the time, was abducted at approximately 8:30 p.m. on January 12, 2022, from a residence on Trailwood Place in Wasaga Beach by three suspects dressed in police gear, but not actual uniforms. They fled in what is believed to be a white Lexus RX sport utility vehicle.
HAJTAMIRI stands approximately 160 cm (5’3″) tall. She is of slim build and had shoulder-length black hair until it had been cut to a shorter length before she was abducted. Photos of Elnaz are available at opp.ca/news/#/mediakit.
The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continues its investigation. Members of the public are strongly urged to share this message on social media using the hashtag #BringElnazHome.
About the Bolo Program
The Bolo Program leverages social media, technology and innovative engagement to encourage citizens to be on the lookout for Canada’s most wanted, so they can help keep their communities safe. ‘BOLO,’ which stands for “be on the lookout,” is a commonly used law enforcement term to designate individuals who are actively wanted.
In cooperation with Canadian police services and Crime Stoppers, Bolo launches amplification campaigns to reach wider audiences for these notices, on multiple platforms and over extended periods of time, and offers major financial rewards as incentives for citizens to be on the lookout and submit tips to the authorities.
