The Huntsville Theatre Company (HTC) and the Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HFA) are holding open auditions for their first joint collaboration, a summer production of Broadway After Dark.
Beginning as the late night entertainment for Nuit Blanche North in 2018, Broadway After Dark is a cabaret-style show with songs from all the most risqué, sexy, dark and naughty Broadway shows. Songs from musicals such as Rocky Horror Picture Show, Avenue Q, Cabaret and The Book of Mormon come together for one evening of fun.
President of the HTC, Lauren Saunders, said they are excited to working closely with the HFA on bringing theatre to Huntsville in the summer months. “The response from Broadway After Dark at Nuit Blanche North was overwhelming and everyone wanted more. With the support of the HFA, we’re excited to create this show together and go bigger, better and sexier.”
HTC and HFA are inviting anyone interested in participating in the show to open auditions. Bring your enthusiasm, a song to sing (ideally something that shows off your wild or darker side) and be prepared to do some light choreography.
Open auditions will be held at the Huntsville Public Library Annex at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019.
Broadway After Dark will take place at Canvas Brewery on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the Algonquin Theatre box office, online at www.algonquintheatre.ca or by calling (705) 789-4975.
