A private school that recently received zoning approval to operate out of the Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area was back before Huntsville’s planning committee at its remotely held October 14 meeting, asking for a similar request at Grandview Golf Club.
“The school is now proposing to utilize both the Hidden Valley and Grandview properties during each business’s respective off-season times. In this instance the proposed educational institution would utilize the existing golf course clubhouse and associated facilities as the primary place of learning; however, as the school aims to provide a progressive outdoor-oriented learning experience, much of the grounds are expected to be used,” explained Huntsville planner Curtis Syvret in a report to the committee.
The zoning amendment will allow the school to operate within Grandview’s golf course facilities and limit the number of students that can participate to 130.
Committee unanimously approved the rezoning.
