Members of the Huntsville and Area Historical Society recently presented a copy of the new edition of Huntsville: Pictures From the Past to the Huntsville Public Library. Among the presenters was Jane Hunt. It was the generosity of her late mother, Maureen Hunt, that allowed the Society to renew and republish the book.

The new edition is dedicated to Maureen not only for her financial help, but also because of her hard work in the 1980s that produced the original Huntsville: Pictures from the Past.

The Huntsville and Area Historical Society also plans to present copies of the book, which features enhanced versions of photos in the first edition as well as the addition of new photos, to area public schools.

If you’d like to own a copy of the book, it is available for $25 at Pharmasave Huntsville (29 Main Street E) and Artisans of Muskoka (67 Main Street E, Huntsville) and in Dorset at Robinson’s General Store, or by contacting [email protected].

Proceeds from book sales support the Huntsville and Area Historical Society’s efforts to publish other local history books and its other activities on heritage matters within Huntsville and the surrounding area.
