This past Saturday, the Muskoka United FC U17 Girls team took on Barrie’s team and came out with a two-to-one win.
Although soggy and cold, the girls played well scoring both their goals In the second half.
Scott Wood, one of the coaches for the team, believes that overall it was a good game and sees potential in the team having a good season.
With it still being early in the season and it being the first year that the 2006 and 2007 girls are playing together, Wood said that the girls are still getting to know each other and said he thinks that this weekend’s retreat will be beneficial for the team.
“We’re looking forward to this weekend for our team bonding weekend at Camp Mini-Yo-We. We’ll do problem-solving and team-building exercises, so it’s pretty helpful,” he said.
Wood describes his team as a respectful mix of players, and said: “I think they are going to do well (this season).”
