Muskoka North Good Food Co-operative Inc. will be taking over the building at Kent Park from July 1 to December 31, 2017.
A Request for Proposal (RFP) for the building was issued by the municipality on June 1, 2017, for a rental rate of $2,000, plus taxes for the season. The RFP closed at noon on June 16, 2017 and the Town received two bids. One of the bidders withdrew their proposal, which made by default Muskoka North Good Food Co-op the winning bid.
According to a report submitted to Council at its June 26 meeting by Director of Community Services Kari Lambe and Economic Development Officer Scott Ovell, the RFP was evaluated based on the following criteria:
– Economic Impact including job creation (part time and full time) – 10 per cent;
– Financial benefit of the proposal to the Municipality – 50 per cent;
– Alignment of the proposal with the Town’s Strategic Vision And Beyond 2017 – 30 per cent;
– Related experience of individuals/organizations as it relates to the proposal – 10 per cent.
Without further comment, Council directed the Mayor and Clerk to enter into an agreement with the co-operative and requested that staff report back to the Town’s General Committee in November of 2017 with a long-term vision for the use of the building for 2018 and beyond.

Because of the small space we have in Kent Park, we are going to be limited to what we can sell BUT, we would be more than happy to bring anything from the main store on any given day for you to pick up in town.
