MBRP Major Midget Otters are hungry for the win tonight

The MBRP Major Midget Otters are on a five game winning streak in the playoffs and want to make it six wins in a row after tonight’s home game (March 3). The Otters are facing off against the Prince Edward County Kings with a series lead of 2-0, hot off a three-game streak to wrap up the quarterfinals. A win at home tonight will send them to the finals to battle for OMHA gold!

Captain Quinn Thompson #17 said the team has been playing together rather than playing as individuals, and when asked what he tells his teammates to keep them focused and positive he replied, “Remember to always have fun and to work as a team and to win as a team. It’s not only one of us who will win, it is all of us, together.”

Jacob Schnurr # 12, Assistant Captain, commented on how well the team has played so far in the semi-finals. “We are playing really well by moving the puck around to keep control and stepping up our defense to minimize any chances for the Kings to score.” When asked about playoff rituals or routines for playoffs, both Schnurr and Dylan Welsh #9 agreed that the team has kept the same routine as the regular season since they have been so successful. “We come ready to play!” added Welsh.

Thompson and Welsh made sure to recognize how well the affiliated players (AP), Cam Aben and Colin Jones, who were called up from the Midget AE team, have been playing. “They fit in really well and they belong to the team,” said Welsh.

For game three tonight, a do-or-die game for Otters opponents the Kings, Thompson said, “We will come out hard, play like we have all season, play our game and control our game!”

Come on out to the Don Lough arena tonight and cheer on the Otters – the puck drops at 7:10. Gate fee is $4.00 for adults and $2.00 for students and seniors. Support your local hockey team as they support their local food bank, too – bring a non-perishable food item for the Otters food drive. You Otter be there!
