Lake of Bays installs two new school zone signs on Dwight Beach Road

From the Township of Lake of Bays

The Township of Lake of Bays has installed two new school zone signs on Dwight Beach Road as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety for students, families, and school staff.

These areas are now clearly marked as designated slow zones to encourage reduced speeds and heightened driver awareness in areas with regular pedestrian and student activity.

We remind all drivers to observe posted speed limits and stay alert when traveling through school zones, especially during pick-up and drop-off times.

All School Zones have a max speed limit of 30km/hr acrossed the province, effective June 1st 2025. Drivers should be aware that fines in these areas automatically double and in some cases triple the fine.
It’s safety first, you wouldn’t want your child hit by a speeding driver or get into a vehicle with a stranger. Slow down and stay alert.
