Young girl recognized by Council for her community spirit

A young girl was recognized for her community spirit at the September 28 General Committee meeting.
Kennedy Watson-Brown wanted to contribute to the Donate for Nate campaign – fundraising for Port Sydney’s Nathan Perry to have surgery in the US to help him walk. So she made knitted hats – 192 of them – and raised $3568.40.
Councillor Jason Fitzgerald thanked Kennedy for her community spirit and generosity and presented council members with hats that he purchased in support of the cause.
It’s a great pleasure for me to welcome the Watson-Browns. I think Kennedy did a great thing…by making hats and selling hats. I want to congratulate her for her great community spirit and generosity. Thanks, Kennedy.
Councillor Jason Fitzgerald
If Kennedy gets more orders, which she can’t handle right now says her mom Sandra, the money will go to Ethan’s Journey to Walk – in support of another young boy needing surgery – or to Knox United in Port Sydney.
Nathan Perry had surgery in June and continues to recover. Sandra Watson-Brown relayed to Committee that he is now using two canes and no longer uses a wheelchair or walker. You can follow Nathan’s progress on the Facebook group Donate for Nate.
