Last week we shared this photo with you:

Marlene Leeson was crowned Miss Dominion of Canada in 1962. This photo was taken in Malton while she waited for a plane to take her to London for the Miss World Contest. (Photo by Norman James, courtesy of the Baldwin Collection, Toronto Reference Library.)

Doppler received a message from John Wolstenholme of Spain, a relative of Marlene’s, wondering if anyone in the Huntsville area might know where she is. “I last saw her at my fathers house in Rawtenstall, Lancashire, England in 1962,” he wrote. “It was just before she travelled down to London for the Miss World contest that year. She has always lived in Canada as far I remember but keeping in touch in the 1960s was difficult. It was a lovely family visit with lots of excitement ….Miss Canada at my house!” In a subsequent email, Wolstenholme added that Leeson would now be 81 years old. Some websites list her home in 1962 as Scotia (near Emsdale)…
