Scott Mitchell guessed via Facebook that this photo was taken in 1925; David Johns said 1930. You can split the difference, gentlemen. Sara White, Collections Coordinator at Muskoka Heritage Place, tells us, “It was taken by the Department of National Defence in September 1927. Aerials taken by the DND can be found on their website neodf.nrcan.gc.ca/neodf_cat3.”

    Cars. This was Huntsville’s version of Soap Box Derby, and was held on Center Street. When I watched it Huey Payne won the event. I’ll go with 1960.

    “Cars” photo. Corner of Duncan St. facing north on Centre St. Just an observation. House in background with the large verandah looks like the Middleton house??
