Social entrepreneur Barb Stegemann reduced the Dragons to tears; she’s bringing her story to Huntsville

In her 2012 Dragon’s Den pitch, she reduced two Dragons to tears and in the end came away with three Dragon partners to invest in her perfume business. Women in the Huntsville area will have an opportunity to hear Barb Stegemann speak as she is the keynote speaker for Connect the Brilliance at their annual women’s spring networking dinner.

The event takes place on Tuesday, May 30 at Hidden Valley Resort in Huntsville, beginning at 5:30 pm. The evening showcases local vendors in a shopping extravaganza and serves up a delicious meal while inspiring the audience with a keynote address by Stegemann, of The 7 Virtues fame. The cost to attend is $65/person.

Stegemann got into the perfume business as a way of incentivizing farmers in Afghanistan to grow orange blossoms instead of poppies. She was profitable within four weeks. That’s just a hint of the inspiring story this woman has to tell.

Stegemann is the best selling author of The 7 Virtues of a Philosopher Queen: a woman’s guide to living & leading in an illogical world and a successful business woman. She will be sharing her amazing story of building a social enterprise, starting in her garage, that now helps nations around the world rebuilding from war or strife. Stegemann’s gift is waking up others to their purpose. She draws from the stoic wisdom of the great philosophers she writes about in her book.

Connect the Brilliance founders Christine Kropp and Patti Kay Hanrath are passionate about providing a first class opportunity for businesswomen in Muskoka to come together, network and share in an evening of inspiration, growth and fun.

We hope the women of Muskoka will come and support this evening for three reasons: to raise money for transformational programs supporting girls and women in our own backyard through YWCA Muskoka, to meet some of the most brilliant women in Muskoka, and to walk away dreaming bigger about how each and every one of us can make a difference by what we choose to do. We have a vision that by helping women come together to share in each others’ journey, that we can encourage one another along the road to success.Connect the Brilliance founders Christine Kropp and Patti Kay Hanrath
