Edward Jones partnered with Muskoka Community Foundation at Touchstone Resort for the inaugural Giving Tuesday Gala on November 26, 2024. The successful first year of this event brought together local philanthropists, business leaders, politicians and volunteers to celebrate and support three deserving local charities. The evening was filled with inspiring stories, important conversations, and an outpouring of generosity.
Along with an increased understanding of charities needs within our community, the event raised over $6,500 and counting for three Muskoka-based charities – MiND-AID, Children’s Foundation of Muskoka, and Hospice Muskoka. The gala provided a platform for these charities to share their missions and connect with new supporters, bringing much-needed awareness to their causes.
“The energy in the room was incredible,” said Host Jeff Barnes of Edward Jones. “We saw so many old friends and new connections made. The spirit of philanthropy in Muskoka was truly highlighted. The support for these charities was overwhelming, and we couldn’t be more proud of what was accomplished in our first year.”
The evening featured touching stories from representatives of the three charities and a keynote address from a speaker at Mackenzie Investments, who spoke about the critical role of an executor and how individuals can incorporate charitable giving into their estate planning.
The Giving Tuesday Gala not only raised funds but also celebrated the generosity and community spirit that define Muskoka. As a result, the event has set the stage for future growth, ensuring that local charities continue to receive the attention and resources they deserve.
