Residents are advised that the annual TriMuskokan event is taking place on Sunday, June 21, 2026, impacting roads near the Canada Summit Centre, the Brunel Locks Bridge and Brunel Road.
The Town of Huntsville has been notified by the District of Muskoka that this includes a temporary full closure of the Brunel Locks Bridge, and portions of Brunel Road will be limited to local traffic only, for the safety of athletes and the public, due to the current construction taking place on the bridge.
Brunel Road and Locks Bridge closures on Sunday, June 21, 2026, include:
- Brunel Locks Bridge will be fully closed to vehicle traffic, in both directions, from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Brunel Road from Townline Road to the Locks Bridge will be open to local traffic only from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
- Brunel Road from Muskoka Road 10 to the Locks Bridge will be open to local traffic only from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
The bridge will remain open to pedestrians, and emergency vehicle access will be maintained. Ontario Provincial Police will be controlling traffic during the closures.
Other temporary road closures on Sunday, June 21, 2026, include:
- Forbes Hill Drive from the rock cut to Camp Kitchen Road from 7:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
- Camp Kitchen Road from Forbes Hill Drive to the end from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Park Drive from the south Summit Centre parking lot to Brunel Road (by Muskoka Heritage Place) from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Portions of the Summit Centre parking lot will be restricted from Saturday, June 20 at 12:00 p.m. until Sunday, June 21, at 12:00 p.m.
Swimmers and support craft will be using a section of the Muskoka River from Camp Kitchen to the old Town of Huntsville dock and boat launch between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Public boaters are asked to avoid the area.
