Huntsville resident Nicholas Ehl, 18, has been a goaltender for approximately a decade. His goal was to advance to a higher level and play university hockey in the United States.
After negotiating with different universities and weighing his options, Nick chose the University of New Haven, located in West Haven, Connecticut.
As a freshman, Nick’s work was cut out for him; however, after training this past summer with Coach Peter Burton and working out with Eddie Pasquale, he was up to the challenge.
Nick won the starting goaltender position and with his team captured the Burning Leaves Championship in Lake Saranac, NY, USA, on September 27 & 28. It was the University of New Haven’s first Men’s Ice Hockey Championship.
“I love playing for UNH. they have treated me like family since day one,” said Ehl.
