Huntsville student places first in Ontario at Legion’s Public Speaking Contest

The Royal Canadian Legion’s Public Speaking Contest finals took place this past weekend in Toronto.

On Saturday, May 4, Huntsville’s Carolyn Yungblut finished first in the provincial finals for the Senior Division (Gr. 10-12) with her speech on Fitness and Wellness.

All four high school speakers gave excellent speeches and presented themselves confidently, noted Carolyn’s mother, Shelly Brandon-Yungblut. She said that given the high degree of competition, Carolyn was humbled to have won. She was thankful to have had the support of her family and friends, teachers, District E Legion members, and Huntsville residents.

Carolyn will be pursuing a career in health sciences in the fall of 2024.

Congratulations!
