In 2024, the Huntsville OPP Detachment responded to over 170 reports of fraud or online fraud.
The incidence of fraud in Canada has a staggering impact, both financially and emotionally, on victims of this crime.
The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre has released its statistics for Fraud in 2024. The losses suffered are reported to be $638 million. What makes the reported losses even worse is that fraud is underreported by victims. What would the actual losses be…one can only imagine.
