The OPP Festive RIDE Campaign ran from November 17, 2022, to January 2, 2023. During that time, members of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted 138 RIDE checks throughout Huntsville and Lake of Bays.
As a result of those RIDE checks, Officers arrested and charged 7 individuals with impaired, 5 individuals with operating a motor vehicle while over the legal limit, and 1 individual with a seven-day suspension.
The OPP is committed to promoting safer roadways throughout Ontario and will continue conducting RIDE checks on a daily basis, noted the detachment commander.
