Huntsville OPP investigating serious Hwy 11 accident

Members of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious motor vehicle collision.

On February 28, 2022 at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers from the Huntsville Detachment responded to reports of a car travelling northbound in the southbound lanes on Highway 11, Huntsville. While attempting to locate and intercept the car, officers located a head on collision in the south bound lanes of Highway 11 in the area of Old North Road. The collision involved a transport truck and SUV.

The 64-year-old male driver of the SUV was transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services to a local hospital and then by Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available.
