From the Huntsville OPP
Officers from the Huntsville Detachment of the of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision on Highway 117, in the Township of Lake of Bays.
On October 8, 2024, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Huntsville OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 117, near Brunel Road. One driver, an 83-year-old of Huntsville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Highway 117 near Brunel Road will be closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists assist with the investigation.
Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
