Huntsville man’s stealing spree lands him in jail 

A Huntsville man who stole everything from liquor to sweaters and tools has landed himself behind bars.

Joshua Dickey, 36, pleaded guilty in a Bracebridge courtroom to multiple counts of theft and breaching court orders.

Court heard on October 8, 2024, Dickey was arrested after stealing an impact wrench from Home Depot in Huntsville, while finding a secluded area of the store and stuffing it down his pants.

On Nov. 2, 2024, he was arrested for stealing three bottles of liquor from the LCBO in Huntsville. He was also charged for breaching his probation, as he was banned from the LCBO for previous thefts.

On Nov. 13 he was arrested for stealing sweaters from Marks Work Wearhouse in Huntsville. The court heard he went to the changeroom and put on multiple unpaid sweaters under his own sweater. He was known to staff from previous thefts and the police were called. 

Dickey was given 115 days in jail and 18 months of probation.

    Yes, Susan, it’s unbelievable..property is more important than children apparently.

    He got more jail time than the child predator who got weekends and is still out on the street for a far more serious crime.
