The Huntsville Theatre Company (HTC) 2023 Theatre Is My Passion Program is taking over the Algonquin Theatre with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe!
Theatre Is My Passion is a free after school program for children ages 8-18. Participants learn what it takes to put on a theatrical performance and perform a full play as the final product. This year’s production is The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This dramatization of C.S. Lewis’ classic work faithfully recreates the magic and mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.
Director Christine Robitaille says she is excited to see this classic story come to life on the Algonquin stage.
“We have over 30 amazing youth who have worked so hard on this production. It’s been a wonderful journey to watch them explore the theatrical process and we can’t wait for everyone to see their passion on stage!” says Robitaille.
Performances are Saturday June 3rd, 2023 at the Algonquin Theatre. There are two performances, a matinee at 2 pm and an evening show at 7 pm.
