HPL’s third annual Books and Brunch promises a little bit of history and whole lot of mystery

Love books? Food, too? Huntsville Public Library has the event for you: its third annual Books and Brunch at Hidden Valley Resort on August 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Whether you’re heading home from the cottage or looking for a relaxing way to spend your Sunday, stop in and fuel your hunger and imagination with two amazing authors, Susanna Kearsley and Simone St. James

These two authors are pairing up to tell us all about writing a historical fiction, with a twist.

Susanna Kearsley’s latest novel Bellewether is set between 1759 and present day. Legend has it that the forbidden love between Jean-Philippe and Lydia ended tragically, but centuries later the clues they left behind slowly unveil the true story.

Simone St. James’ The Broken Girls takes place at Idlewild Hall, a place for the girls whom no one wants. There’s even a rumour the school is haunted. Four roommates bond over their whispered fears, until one of them mysteriously disappears.

You’ll have to pick up copies of these books at the Library or get your very own signed copy at the event to find out how these two tales end.

Tickets are on sale now at the Library for $27 each. The event includes a delicious buffet brunch by Hidden Valley Resort as well as an intimate conversation with two authors.

Get your tickets today and join Susanna and Simone as they weave a tale of suspense and take us on an adventure through time and place. After the author talk, stick around to purchase your copy of their latest novels and have it personally signed.
