The COVID-19 pandemic has dealt devastating blows to the livelihoods of artists and businesses alike.
In response, the Huntsville Festival of the Arts (HfA) is pleased to launch The Huntsville Art Crawl this June as an exciting way to usher in the summer, and show your support for local artists and businesses.
The Huntsville Art Crawl is a free self-guided art tour in and around downtown Huntsville, Muskoka. Visitors will be able to create their own Art Crawl experience by touring local businesses, galleries, and studios, which will feature exhibits, demos, and interactive experiences by local artists. Artwork will be available for participants to purchase during the event. Proceeds will go to participating artists, with a portion of the sale directly supporting the business the art is featured in.
“The Crawl is an opportunity for people to enjoy and support what our local artists and businesses have to offer, in a COVID-safe manner,” says Dan Watson, HfA executive director. “Not only will there be art in stores, but we’ll be featuring a number of exhibits and experiences outdoors including the Group of Seven Canoe Murals, a mobile art gallery, art in construction zones, and more.”
The Crawl is made possible with generous support from the Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association, the Huntsville Downtown BIA, and community partners the Huntsville Art Society and Muskoka Unlimited.
HfA is inviting local artists and businesses to participate in this initiative by contacting Dan Watson at [email protected] or 705-788-2787.
