As winter hits and the snow starts to fly, those who live in the downtown core may be wondering where they can park and not get towed.
You should know that Huntsville’s Main Street and most side streets are definitely off-limits as plows need to clear the snow off roads and sidewalks, often overnight, and any vehicles parked along the road will get a ticket and/or be towed.
The Town of Huntsville’s website does indicate where parking can take place. You can find their list here.
“The town website lists a few parking lots where overnight parking is allowed such as High Street (behind Town Hall) and River Mill Park,” explains Huntsville director of infrastructure and protective services Steve Hernen. “We simply ask that they park at one end or the other so we can clear the middle of the lot.”

OMG Thank you so much for looking into this!
I spoke with the receptionist at town hall a coupl yrs ago and she told me i was out of luck and that there was ZERO overnight parking dwntwn during the winter!
This will be very helpful for me (i live dwntwn but my building doesnt offer parking) but also for peopl who may enjoy going to the restaurants/bars dwntwn (they can be safer, not be worried about not driving home aftr havng a drink etc)
