Helen “Virginia” Pert

Helen “Virginia” Pert, born on April 14, 1939, in Hamilton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025, at the Creedan Valley Care Community Nursing Home in Creemore, Ontario. Virginia, as she was fondly known, lived a life filled with dedication to her family, community, and her passions.

Virginia’s career began as a secretary working for a pathologist, demonstrating her commitment to supporting those in the medical field. She also worked at Bell Canada in retail, where her warm demeanor and work ethic left a lasting impression on her colleagues and customers alike. Beyond her professional pursuits, Virginia was deeply involved in music, teaching piano and sharing her love for the art form with many.

Virginia was not only a career woman but also a nurturing homemaker. She was an active member of the Riverside Free Methodist Church in Huntsville, where she contributed her musical talents by playing the organ and piano for local retirement homes, nursing homes, and churches. Her love for music resonated throughout her life and touched the hearts of many.

Virginia’s legacy is carried on by her two beloved sons, Raymond Scott Pert and Derek Andrew Nelson Pert. She is predeceased by her devoted husband, Norman Coull Pert, and her parents, Percy and Helen Coombs.     Rest in peace Virginia. In her later years, she was a swimming buddy at the Huntsville Pool.
    Many contributions to others from her life. Thank you to her son for stepping up in her care.
