Looking for a few festive ways to pass the time this month? There’s an abundance of events and activities happening around Huntsville in the coming weeks. Check out what’s on offer below (and let us know if there are others!)

A special service designed for those for whom the holidays might be difficult, Dec. 16, 7-9 p.m., Trinity United

If you have experienced a difficult loss, transition, or life change, the church cares about you and invites you to a special time of music and meditation.

Free sewing drop-in: make a Christmas gift! Dec. 18, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Huntsville Public Library Annex

Come and make a Christmas gift with Terri Howell and Mary Spring. No sewing experience necessary; fabric and materials provided for most projects

CANCELLED Ukulele Carol Sing-Along

Community Christmas Sing-along with Huntsville Theatre Company, Dec. 18, 6-7 p.m., Partners Hall, Algonquin Theatre

A free event open to all members of the community, young and old, who enjoy singing both traditional Christmas carols and more popular songs. Lyrics will be provided at the event, and hot cocoa and homemade cookies will be served to warm your spirits.

Build a personalized, sugar-free gingerbread house heirloom centerpiece, Dec. 21, 1:30-4:30 p.m., More Than Just Art

Each child (ages 7-12) will be guided in constructing and decorating a ‘gingerbread house’ worthy of acclaim! Parents are invited and welcome to participate. Please pre-register.

A Portage Flyer Christmas, Dec, 21, 5-8 p.m., Muskoka Heritage Place Rotary Village Station

Super-magicated is the perfect word to describe this fun community event! Enjoy a cup of free hot chocolate and cookies (while supplies last) and sing along to carols while you wait to board the train to Santa!

A Very Reggae Christmas with WATERHOUSE, Dec. 21, 8:30 p.m., Huntsville Legion

Show starts at 9:30 p.m. and includes new music from PLANET NINE.
