Another Huntsville resident has organized a fundraiser for families whose home was also destroyed in a fire on West Street South on October 1, 2025, when fire from a neighboring house spread to the Prosser/Toral’s home.
The GoFundMe was organized by Lauralee Allen and states that the Prosser and Toral family slept inside while the fire was raging next door and were woken by a family member “passing by and had merely moments to escape with only the clothes on their bodies. No wallets, no phones, no shoes, nothing.
“Over the next few hours they watched as all their worldly possessions, their irreplaceable momentos, their everyday items became nothing but a burn pile.
“Everyone got out safe, and for that we are most grateful. The families two dogs are safe and thankfully their neighbors opposite, who have also suffered great loss due to this fire.
“The Prosser/Toral home was completely destroyed. There is nothing to go back to. Not one thing. They are heartbroken,” states the GoFundMe page.
“We, as a community, cannot replace the 15 years worth of memories that they have lost to this fire. We can help carry the load by simply putting ourselves in that position for one moment and deciding to reach out how we are able,” it adds.
