“Found money” left over from bandshell fundraising benefits Community Living Huntsville

When Community Living Huntsville’s Cathy Stroud, Brenda Wood, and Andrea Johnston spoke to the Rotary Club of Huntsville about inclusion, it made an impression.

In particular, Wood’s touching story of her involvement with Community Living and how people with intellectual disabilities have been treated in the past was an eye-opener for club members.

Later in the meeting, Rotarian Rob Saunders announced that all of the club’s accounts from the River Mill Park bandshell project have been closed and that $987 remained. He suggested that the money be donated to Community Living Huntsville. His fellow club members agreed and, following the meeting, club president Kim O’Grady and Pamela McCluskey headed to Community Living Huntsville to present them with a cheque for $1,000.
