United to carry the fire for cancer patients and their loved ones, 500 cyclists pedalled across Muskoka, raising $1.57 million for life-saving cancer research at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at the 9th annual Northern Pass to Conquer Cancer, powered by Pass It Along Foundation.
Driven by incredible support from Honourary Chairs Phil, David, and Sue Allan, Les Domestiques Cycling Club, and top fundraiser Michelle Reisman, the 2025 edition of Northern Pass set a record for funds raised, and brings the total amount raised since inception to more than $6.5 million.
Funds raised at Northern Pass fuel groundbreaking discoveries at The Princess Margaret, one of the world’s leading cancer research and treatment centers, and change how the world understands, prevents, diagnoses, and treats cancer.
A hot and humid day on Saturday August 9 did not stop these determined riders from taking on the hills of Muskoka. Departing from the Bracebridge Sportsplex, riders gathered for breakfast and a special ceremony before they took on a route of 40, 80, 100, or 160 kilometers.
The Northern Pass is not just a beautiful and scenic bike ride through Muskoka, it is about determination, perseverance, and taking the fear out of a cancer diagnosis, one pedal stroke at a time.
Following the ride, participants gathered for a celebratory lunch, and to hear from cancer survivor and Northern Pass rider Steven Weiner, who spoke about his cancer journey and how advancements in cancer research and diagnostics at The Princess Margaret have helped him in his cancer journey.
