Etwell Concert Series presents their last outdoor concert of the season

LANCE ANDERSON

Lance is a Juno award-winning producer (Leahy) and was nominated for the 2022 Keyboard Player of the Year at the National Maple Blues Blues Awards and previously won the 2014 Maple Blues Award for Keyboardist of the Year. He was trained as a classical composer with an honours degree in music from Western Univ. and has both film and TV credits as a writer.

As musical director and session pianist Lance has worked with Roger Whittaker, Shakura S’Aida, Maple Blues Band, Jackie Richardson, and Ian Gillan, amongst many others. Lance has had an eclectic career, from writing songs with Gordon Pinsent to touring with Mr. Dress-up! From rockin’ boogie piano to Hammond organ jazz and orchestral music and film scores.

TOBIN SPRING

Tobin Spring was born and bred in Huntsville. From an early age, he learned to sing and play guitar. He performed in bands while at St. Mary’s public school and then while at Huntsville High School formed the band Laganza. He then graduated from the Jazz program at Humber College. He co-founded the Northern Blues Review which had a 10-year run at the Algonquin Theatre. He is a music teacher, and songwriter and has honed his skills during a 25-year career in the music business.
He grew up at 2012 Etwell Rd ( home of the Etwell Concert Series) and once a year returns to perform on the Etwell stage. This year Tobin and his band are joined by Lance and Roly, both of whom played on his album “Collective Blues Agreement”

ROLY PLATT

Roly’s career as both a live and studio harmonica player stretches over 45 years. He has toured and recorded with many greats, including David Clayton-Thomas, Matt Minglewood, Dutch Mason, George Canyon, Susan Aglukark, and Ronnie Hawkins. Roly is a multiple Maple Blues Awards nominee for “Harmonica Player of the Year”, “First-call” studio harmonica player in the Canadian recording scene, and has been recorded on over 1,700 songs, movie scores, and jingles.
