Angel Forrest and her two husbands delivered one of the most exciting performances in our 10-year history.
Backing up this powder keg of a singer was her current husband Dennis and her ex-husband Rob (both accomplished musicians with their own separate careers). The chemistry that evolved during the show was electrifying and at times hilarious.
Angel and Dennis live in their tour bus on Hornby Island, BC. A Friday night stopover in Etwell fit nicely into Angel’s schedule on her way to headlining the North Bay Bluesfest on Sat. night. We should make this a yearly affair.
Both the artists and the Etwell Concert Series crew, including volunteers, appreciate the turnout and how receptive our listening crowd is. Thank you to all that attend and support our shows. It’s a lot of work, but to be upfront and centre for a performance like Angel put on …..there can be some heaven-on-earth moments.
Today we’re still in another zone after Paul Reddick took us into orbit with his always great group of musicians on Sunday afternoon.
Now, four more outdoor shows.
Jeff Healey called Jack, Canada’s finest blues player. Two-time Juno winner, Jack de Keyzer, and his band are always one of our top draws of the year, bringing world-class guitar playing and soulful vocals. Local musicians Jeff Hawkins and Will Main will open the show with a set of Grateful Dead songs done in bluegrass style. Be there early to catch their 2:45 to 3:15 pm set.
Shows are rain or shine. We have shelter. Bring your own snacks or beverages. Pizza oven available during intermission.
