Environment Canada issues rainfall warning and fog advisory

Issued at Sun 1:46 AM Dec. 29

Rainfall, combined with melting snow, is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Hazard:
Rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm, impacting Muskoka and East Parry Sound.

Timing:
Beginning late this morning or afternoon and ending tonight.

Discussion:
A low pressure system will bring rain, at times heavy, to the region today. Light showers may linger into Monday however, the majority of rainfall will fall through the day today.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
