Dangerous heat and humidity will continue through early to mid-week.
The first significant heat event of the season, characterized by dangerously hot and humid conditions, is expected to persist into the week.
What:
Daytime highs of 30 to 33 degrees Celsius.
Humidex values of 40 to 43.
Overnight lows of 20 to 23 degrees Celsius, providing little relief from the heat.
When:
Now until Tuesday.
Additional information:
The extreme heat and humidity could persist into Wednesday. A cold front is expected to push through the region on Tuesday evening, but there is some uncertainty about how far south this front will extend. Should it remain farther north, the heat event may continue on Wednesday.

Yes, it is time that Council ban fireworks in the Town of Huntsville. People were setting off fireworks between 3 and 4 am on the weekend. Residents were very upset. Fireworks should not be allowed.
With this extreme heat and the increasing risks eof forest fires it is time for this Council to baan fireworks. There is a srious shortage of firefighters so we cannot take any further risks. Many residents have asked this Mayor to follow other Muskoka muncipalities she has constantly ignored.
In the Middle East, countries like the Sultanate of Oman, in the days when there was no electricity, people would cope with the extreme heat of up to 50C and lower their body temperature by covering themselves with towels that had been soaked in water and wrung out. For the vulnerable including children and the aged who do not have access to air conditioning, this can truly be a life saver.
